our process

At Ombre Interior Design we’re all about the fundamentals; talking, listening, interpreting and exceeding. Pure and simple.

We believe great design is about the fundamentals; talking, listening, interpreting and exceeding.

here’s our 5 step guide to design success:

Step 1 - the first meeting

It’s not just enough to take a brief from a client - interior design is about so much more!

That’s why we pride ourselves in really getting to know our client…after all, great design needs a foundation on which to flourish and that starts with you.

we’re happy to offer you an initial complimentary consultation* in the comfort of your own home. This vital first introduction provides the perfect opportunity for you to divulge more about your project and make an informed decision as to why we’re the right fit for you.

step 2 - the briefing

following our initial complimentary consultation* the next step is for us to take an in-depth client brief.

We normally ask you for a steer on budget at this stage of the project so we can ensure costs are kept on track and expectations are met.

From there, we will then propose and agree the scope of works required and present you with this for sign off, along with our design fee for the complete works from conception to completion.

NO hidden costs : NO time sheets

This approach not only enables our clients to manage their overall budget with ease and clarity, but leaves them free to concentrate on the project itself without the worry of accumulating further design costs along the way.

step 3 - the designing

Once the scope of works is agreed and signed off, the detailed design process can begin.

As no two projects are the same the work undertaken and presented to you may consist of some, or all, of the following:

2D floor plans : sketch elevations : mood boards : visual shopping list : furniture sourcing and specification : wall art specification: soft furnishings and window treatments: paint, wallpaper and fabric specification

This part of the process accumulates in a client presentation and design pack (consisting of some/all the above) for you to take away and peruse at your leisure.

Step 4 - the procurement

Once you’ve had a chance to digest all the information in the design pack we meet up again to discuss the presentation in finite detail and review the all important visual shopping list.

This document is such a beneficial tool as it conveys everything that has been specified within your design in a clear and concise way - including all the associated costs.

It’s at this point we may make slight tweaks to the overall design at your request and, on signing off, move to procuring and sequencing all your chosen pieces ready for installation.

This phase of the works may also involve instructing sub-contractors to carry out essential works ahead of install such as window dressings, decoration, joinery, mechanical/electrical, etc. We have a plethora of trusted trades people we can instruct on your behalf or you may wish to utilise your own - the decision is yours.

Step 5 - the installation

The moment we’ve all been waiting…the installation!

Once any remedial works have been completed we will arrange delivery of your goods and be on hand to unpack, dress and style your home accordingly.

Some clients like to be present for this stage of the works, where as others like to make themselves scarce and come home to the big reveal - the choice is yours!

Once the installation is complete, we always like to sit down and review our work with you to ensure you’re happy and that there is nothing outstanding.

Then it’s time for us to step away and leave you to enjoy your new surroundings.
